Dear Walnut Creek Little League Members,
I hope this letter is finding everyone well. First, I want to say a big thank you to all of our parents, volunteers and sponsors. Although the season was cut short, that should not take away from recognizing the endless hours that were put into preparing for the start of the season. I also wanted to give a special acknowledgement to the numerous volunteers that helped us react quickly when the pandemic first hit and then supported processing close to 900 refunds.
Hard to believe, but it is now time to turn our attention to the 2021 Spring Season. There is still so much uncertainty around youth sports and competitive play, but the WCLL Board of Directors is going to kick off the year on Wednesday, September 16 at 7pm PDT with our annual General Membership Meeting. Of course, we will have to meet virtually (meet.google.com/ynb-wxfa-utb). I encourage anyone interested in sharing feedback or getting more involved in the league to attend.
A large portion of the meeting will be dedicated to closing out the 2020 season, but we will announce the 2021 Board of Directors at that meeting. We have a few open positions to fill, so if you are intersted in joining, please reply to firstname.lastname@example.org. Responsibilities of Board members are outlined in our Board Responsibilities page.
The health of our league is directly determined by the strength of our Volunteer Membership. The single greatest need of any community sports program is Volunteers. We have so many opportunities to get involved that fit the busiest of schedules. We will send information about these volunteer opportunities shortly after we kick off the year. As usual, let me know if you have any questions or feedback.
