Hit-A-Thon April 26th Details
On Sunday, April 26, Walnut Creek Little League will hold its third annual Hit-A-Thon fundraiser from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM in conjunction with team picture day at Castle Rock Youth Sports Park. The Hit-a-Thon will help fund equipment, uniforms, training clinics, field maintenance, and more. Since 1963, Walnut Creek Little League has been a committed youth baseball and softball program in the Walnut Creek community. We are a volunteer-based organization and highly dependent on the goodwill of
our families, friends, and local business partners for support. Please come out and show your support!
How it Works
The WCLL Hit-a-Thon is similar to a walk-a-thon, but with batting instead of walking. Each participant solicits sponsors who make tax-deductible donations based on distance batted or a flat rate. Participants will get 5 swings, and the distance their longest hit travels will be recorded. Players in each division with the farthest hits AND who have raised the most money will receive recognition. Coaches will pitch to their team or use the pitching machine, and players in lower divisions will use a tee. Each team will take their hit-a-thon turn immediately following their team pictures. ALL WCLL players and coaches are encouraged to participate in this event.
Online Fundraising Platform
Each player will have their own personal pledge page on 99pledges. To set up your free pledge page, visit 99pledges (https://app.99pledges.com/fund/wcll2026) and search for your player. Once created, share your page with friends and family across the world via email and social media. 99pledges allows sponsors to pledge via credit card or debit card using a secure site! We are asking each player to set a minimum of a $50 fundraising goal.
To make your fundraising campaign as successful as possible, take these steps:
● Make your donation immediately. This will encourage others to donate as well.
● Send emails to 20 of your closest friends and family.
● Post to Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and X (bonus: include a video message!).
Prizes
● The player who raises the most money overall will win an Xbox Series X Video Game Console.
● The player who raises the 2nd most money overall will win a Nintendo Switch.
● The top fundraiser in each division (excluding 1st and 2nd overall) will receive $25 Amazon Gift Card
● The team who raises the most money will win a private pizza party at Rocco’s
● The player who hits the farthest ball in each division will receive a $10 Amazon Gift Card.
● Day of Hit a Thon: prizes will be raffled off throughout the day(e.g. gift certificates to local businesses, gear, etc.). Each player participating in the Hit a Thon will receive one raffle ticket. If not present, you will be contacted on how to claim your raffle prize.
