Are you new to Walnut Creek Little League Softball (or still learning how the league works)?
Join us for a New Family Orientation for softball families on Thursday, January 22nd at 6:00
PM in the Parkmead Elementary MPR.
Whether it’s your first season or your daughter is still learning the game, you’re in the right
place. Our goal is a fun, safe, and encouraging environment where players build confidence,
make friends, and grow at their own pace.
What we’ll cover (and why it matters)
This is a parent-friendly, overview designed to reduce stress and answer the questions most new families have:
--What Little League Softball is all about: confidence, friendships, and learning the
game, not pressure or perfection.
--Development over destination: softball is a game; most kids play because it’s fun and
social, and that’s a great outcome.
--Season overview: teams/divisions, schedules, equipment, uniforms, weather/rainouts,
and communication.
--Player development approach: positive reinforcement, age-appropriate instruction, and
rotational opportunities to learn the full game.
--Parent expectations: encourage effort, model positivity, and help create a supportive
environment for every player.
--Safety: training, protocols, and a strong focus on player well-being.
--Volunteer opportunities: easy ways to help, even if you’ve never played softball.
--Open Q&A: no question is too small for new families.
--We also want families to know what matters most: the best message you can give your daughter is “I love watching you play” and celebrate effort, courage, and growth.
