Heat Captures Juniors Crown In 16-15 Walk-Off

The No. 1 seeded Heat (10-4-1) captured the Juniors championship in dramatic fashion 16-15 on Wednesday night, in a back-and-forth battle between two evenly matched teams. Heat leadoff hitter Kora Pretzlaf drew a bases loaded walk with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to secure the win. The Heat tallied 12 hits, with Kora and Sophia Chu each recording three, while the Fire Ballers recorded 9 hits. Heat pitcher Mia Parson collected the win with five solid innings in the circle. The runner-up Fire Ballers capped off a great season of their own, defeating the Legends in the semifinal game and finishing 9-6. The Heat will play in the District 4 Tournament of Champions on June 7-8 in Martinez.
